How Much Does Visiting Belize Cost? Belize Travel Guide

So do you want to visit Belize in 2023!! Hi, my name is Amy I travelled to Belize a few months ago and it very quickly became one of my favourite places on my travel list. Belize is filled with stunning beaches, awesome boats, relaxing islands, great food, and the friendliest people I have met anywhere else. It is considerably cheaper than most well-known travel destinations. Although I travelled there, I have done some research and all the current prices are generally the same price for 2022. Keep in mind in Belize they use the same dollar sign and also call them dollars but the exchange rate from Belize dollars to US dollars is almost exactly two to one.

Also, English is very commonly spoken in Belize you won't have a hard time if you have to ask a local any question. Let's start with:

The Time of The Year That You Choose To Go

Prices start dropping for the low season from May to November the weather will be hot around 90 degrees F almost every day with frequent rain and thunderstorm that last for no more than an hour a time. If you want your trip as cheap as possible this is what you will have to deal with after experiencing it firsthand.

Flight Cost

The cost of a flight can drastically varies depending on where you come from but for this example using Tuesday, June 5th to Tuesday 12th June 2022 as a baseline I have gathered a few prices from common airports around the world, and flights from the US are going to be many times cheaper than many other international flights. A round trip flight from Lax costs around 550, from JFK, is also around 550 from Houston and Texas is around 350 and from Chicago, it is around 450.

Housing Options

If you are going cheap hostels are the way to go to basic rooms and hostels. Around Belize, it costs an average of fifteen dollars per night in most cities, hotels in the same area are much more expensive being around a hundred dollars per night, this is partly because most hotels in Belize are much more luxurious since it’s a tropical vacation spot. Depending on what city you choose these prices can fluctuate.

Food and Alcohol

The national beer of Belize is the brand pelican, it's not great but it's cheap and there's exactly one metric load of it. Chances are when you go to any hotel or hostel bar, they are going to offer you either bellicon or the Belize special rum punch. These beers and some mixed drinks are only going to cost you around two Usd but at the hotel, the bar might be more expensive.

As for food, it is generally pretty cheap everywhere you go, except in hotel bars. A shrimp paste in Placencia at the hotel can cost you around 15 but a fat burrito in a local shop cost only four dollars.
